climate

pannonian climate: this is a continental-like climate, which typically brings hot summers and cold winters, an influence that in combination with the moderating effects of the nearby Danube and Neusiedlersee (Lake Neusiedl) enable the grapes to reach full physiological maturity.

soil

the substrate in the region mainly consists of clay, sand and gravel

vinification

the grapes were harvested by hand at the end of September with a good balance of ripeness and fruit, afterwards the grapes and every single berry were again selected and controlled in the cellar. Fermentation was in controlled stainless-steel tanks at a maximum of 30 °C and the fresh wine was kept on the mash for another 3 weeks, after being gently pressed. The malolactic fermentation and 18-month-ageing were completed in new French barrels.
