2021 Torcilacqua Chianti Classico Riserva Sangiovese 90%, Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) e Merlot (2%) 0.75 Ltr. Rosso
picture of

An intense and bright ruby-red color. The nose bursts with red and black fruits such as cherries, blackberries, cassis, and red currants, accompanied by floral notes of violets and more complex nuances of cedar, leather, and tobacco. Impressive structure that ensures a perfect balance between intense fruit, secondary impressions, and beautifully integrated tannins and acidity. Long and impressive finish. Be sure to give this wine a few years to reach its optimal complexity.

Its robust yet refined character naturally pairs well with a hearty piece of meat. Aged beef, lamb, venison, deer, ostrich, or horse. With aging, the complexity significantly increases, and it also delights with dishes featuring mushrooms, truffles, or other pronounced winter flavors."

climate

Cool and relatively wet winters while summers are dry and warm with plenty of sunshine hours. Nights can cool significantly, allowing grapes to ripen ideally and contributing to more structure in the wine.

soil

One of the oldest vineyards near the estate, with older vines and a perfect southwest orientation. Clay-loam soil with limestone and slates in the top layer. They give the wine a pronounced mineral character.

vinification

Exclusive production of 1500 bottles achieved only in the best vintages. Manual harvest, careful selection, and Matteo's masterful touch ensure an unparalleled reflection of his terroir. Sangiovese matures for 12 months in large tonneaux while Cabernet matures for 12 months in barriques. Then, the wine is blended and further aged for 8 months in stainless steel tanks to promote stability and homogeneity.
